Business Continuity allows inbound and outbound email to be available from a secure, mirrored data store that end users can view via webmail. This allows users to send and receive email from any internet browser worldwide, ensuring important communication is not lost when a mail server goes down.
In the event of a disaster, customers are able to log in to an offsite, fully functional webmail interface where the user can read both received and sent mail as well as respond to email as they would normally. During an outage, inbound email will be stored in a Business Continuity mailbox and a copy of the original message will also be queued for delivery when core email infrastructure is back online. Mail can be queued on average for 7 days, but can be extended if necessary.
